Eckhart Tolle - 'The Power of Now': A profound guidebook for me toward spiritual awakening. Echoes of the great spiritual masters of history in fresh, contemporary language. Not religion but the core of living focused in the present moment -- deeper and more satisfying than the mind consumed by past or future, guilt or fear, identity or salvation. Highly recommended.
Sri Nisargadatta Maharaji - 'I Am That': Another spiritual guidebook for my living. Teachings by a sage of India (1897-1981). Beyond ideology or religion, he teaches about the end of suffering by recognizing one's being -- not 'being this or that' but timeless being. Highly recommended.

Constance Demby - composer: Beautiful cosmic music. Like a new 'classical' music in electronic media with immense consiousness. A living, musical heroine.
Alex Gray - artist: An artist-mystic who creates paintings of cosmic dimensions rendered with precise, clinical detail. The human form as you've never seen it. Exquisitely beautiful.

Wingspan - Tucson, AZ: Southern Arizona's Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Community Center.
Christian de la Huerta - 'Coming Out Spiritually': Read his book. He calls Queer folk to fully claim our spiritual roles of service, leadership and community enrichment in the world. This link is to 'Q-Spirit' -- the organization he founded.
Luxnoir - San Francisco, CA: Kundalini Yoga classes and workshops facilitated by James Curnow, a sensitive, effective teacher of this powerful form of yoga. And also a friend. (See his homepage for a piece of my art.)

University of Creation Spirituality - Oakland, CA: Founded by Matthew Fox. I studied at an ancestor to UCS. Check out his book 'Original Blessing: A Primer in Creation-Centered Spirituality' -- still relevant for church folk doing spiritual exploring.
