Bio Sketch

My musical style is a personal blending of formal classical training, affection for traditional tunes and some studies in jazz and free improvisation. One of my strengths seems to be a gift for writing simple, accessible tunes.

I have been on a life-long quest to answer, 'Who am I -- really?' This exploring has taken me through East-West religious thought, diverse spiritual practices, mysticism and psychology.

All of these have been influences on my texts, along with seminary training in Christian theology and liturgy, and some additional graduate studies in creation-centered spirituality and in the area of consciousness and the arts.

I live a rather simple lifestyle with a Zen master – my Siamese cat. I ride a motor scooter, meditate daily for sanity and have a day job while working on creative projects.

I've often felt 'on the edge' -- of society, of established religion, of the music world. I now embrace and celebrate that place for the unique, creative perspective it offers.

If I needed a label, I'd say I'm a 'Mystic Musician.'
